課程概述

Course Description

The purpose of learning English is to use it! What we will do in this class is to help you USE English to express yourself!

This course is an interactive and student-centered course where we help students improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities in English. Using resources such as English interviews, news videos, articles, and intriguing talks, we will focus on issues in the contemporary world. Students are expected to spend one to two hours a week preparing for class, including reading an article, listening to an interview, or watching a video.

The three-hour class time will be divided into several segments: small talk, a group presentation on “the Topic of the Week,” different language skills workshops, and students’ show and tell. Each group will present a topic of their choice for the group presentation. A formal rehearsal will be arranged at least one week before the presentation. For language skills workshops, we will conduct various workshops such as Writing, Speech, Pronunciation, and News English workshops.
